The Democratic party and Vice President Harris have the power to end the genocide. And we have the power to hold her accountable—sign the No Ceasefire No Vote pledge today!
We will not vote for a Presidential Candidate who will continue funding genocide in Gaza. President Biden lost the support of hundreds of thousands of voters through his unconditional political and financial support for Israel’s genocide. With a new candidate at the top of the ticket, Vice President Harris has a unique opportunity to win back those voters. But that will only happen if she is willing to take action.
We are calling on President Biden and Vice President Harris to use every tool at their disposal—including an arms embargo on Israel—to bring about an immediate and permanent ceasefire. And we are calling on Harris to publicly commit to stop all funding for Israel’s genocide if she is elected president.
By gathering commitments from Pennsylvania voters unwilling to cast ballots for Vice President Harris unless she and the Biden administration do everything in their power to end the genocide in Gaza, we are giving the Democratic Party an opportunity to change course and regain the support of the constituencies they have alienated.
VP KAMALA HARRIS AND THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION HAVE THE POWER TO END THE GENOCIDE
Over 39,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israel's devastating attacks on Gaza. More than two million people have been displaced, and much of Gaza is buried under the rubble and remnants of U.S.-made bombs. Since October 7, the United States has approved billions of dollars in military funding and weapons to Israel. The U.S. has also provided Israel with training and intelligence support, including for the massacre of 247 people in the Nuseirat refugee camp. Despite paying lip service to the need for a ceasefire, the Biden Administration has continued to send weapons shipments and provide political cover for the Israeli military and government.
Without this support, Israel would not be able to carry out a sustained military operation of this scale, nor do it with such political impunity. Vice President Harris is currently a leader in the Biden administration and the presumptive Democratic Party nominee for president, giving her unique leverage to influence policy now and in the future. We are asking her to use her position within the Biden administration and her platform as a presidential candidate to bring about a ceasefire in Gaza. The Biden administration has many concrete avenues to try and make this happen. These include:
- Instituting a full arms embargo on Israel and immediately stoping all arms shipments
- Bring the U.S. into compliance with its own laws and policies that condition funding and arms deals. This could include enforcing the Leahy Law, which prohibits the U.S. Government from funding foreign security forces where there is credible evidence that they are committing gross violations of human rights, or National Security Memorandum-20, which directs the State Department to obtain credible assurances from foreign governments receiving U.S. military support that they will abide by U.S. and International Law.
- Putting restrictions on trade with Israel
- Ending or threaten to end diplomatic relations with Israel
We are also calling on Vice President Harris to publicly commit to an arms embargo on Israel if she is elected president.
PENNSYLVANIA HAS THE POWER TO SWAY THE ELECTION
In 2020, it was Pennsylvania voters who delivered the election for Biden; in the final tally, he emerged with a narrow 80,000 vote lead. This year, the democrats need those votes more than ever.
We know another Trump presidency would be disastrous for our communities. We are taking action because we believe no democratic candidate can win if they are actively supporting a genocide. We want to be able to vote in November without feeling like we are betraying our communities and our values. Through this campaign, we hope to hold Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party accountable by giving them the opportunity to change course on Gaza and secure a permanent ceasefire. Two-thirds of the U.S. public and over 80% of the Democratic base support a ceasefire in Gaza. We need to see that commitment reflected in our candidate for President.
